Curriculum: Overview


The Gloucestershire Islamic School is fully committed to meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum, which is taught within an Islamic framework.


The Curriculum has been divided in to two main areas – National Curriculum subjects and Islamiat. (Islamic subjects).


The National Curriculum Subjects: 65% of the school curriculum.


All staff who teach the National Curriculum subjects are university graduates. Most of them are also fully qualified and experienced teachers holding PGCE’s.


Islamiat: 35% of the school curriculum.


All staff who teach Islamic subjects have degrees in Islamic Theology.


When pupils leave primary school, they will be in Year 7, the seventh year of statutory education.
